Order cancellation.
Before you decide to cancel your order, you must understand your rights and obligations and those of Essay Break. To cancel your order, please contact our support team by phone or via live chat as soon as possible. The following are common reasons for order cancellation and the percentage of refund you are entitled to in each case.
- Unwanted order– If you decide to cancel your order as you no longer need it, you can get a 100% Refund if your order has not been assigned to a writer. You can get a 70% refund if a writer has already been assigned to your paper and less than half of the time has passed between the moment the order was received and the deadline. You can get up to 50% can be refunded if more than half of the time has passed between the moment the order was received and the deadline. Up to 30% might be considered after delivery if you haven’t downloaded the paper and the circumstances leading to the order’s cancellation were beyond your control.
Note: You cannot cancel your order if the paper has been completed and delivered to your order page in time. In this case, you can only request a refund due to quality concerns through the “Refund” button on your order page.
- I paid for one order twice. If you notice that you have been charged twice for one order, make sure to contact us. Forward both receipts to our email, and the extra payment will be refunded in full as soon as possible.
- I accidentally placed two identical orders. Be sure to cancel any orders you don’t need before we assign a writer; otherwise, the orders will be regarded as regular. In this case, the standard procedures for order cancellation and refund will apply, which means you won’t be able to get a 100% refund. To cancel an order you’ve accidentally placed, contact our support team as soon as possible.
Late delivery
You can request a refund if the first version of your paper was delivered late. In this case, you can request price recalculation. For instance, if an 8-hour-delivery paper is completed an hour late, it will fall into the 24-hour-delivery category and therefore cost less, and the difference in price will be refunded. If you receive the first version of your 14-day deadline order late, we refund 7% of the cost upon your request.
Delay-based refunds and price recalculations don’t apply to revisions, since the revision deadlines are set separately from those of the original orders.
Quality issues
I am not fully satisfied with the quality of the paper. However, I accept it and will revise it myself. I request a partial refund. In this case, you have these options:
- Request a free revision.
- Ask for another writer to be assigned to your order.

I am completely dissatisfied with the quality of the paper and so have decided to write it myself. I request a full refund. In this case, you have the following options.

Please remember that with progressive delivery orders, only the last part delivered can be disputed. Standard money-back policies apply.
Additional Services
Progressive delivery orders
A revision request for orders with a progressive delivery is limited to 21 days after the initial approval. Once you press the “Approve Part” button, and the writer starts working on the next section you cannot request a refund for the previously approved part. The 10% progressive delivery fee is non-refundable.
Samples service
The $5 deposit for this service is non-refundable, so make sure you check the samples written by your expert in time. If you don’t request another writer within the allotted time, we consider it as your acceptance of the writer initially assigned to your order.
Writer’s preferences
If you pay an extra fee for an advanced writer, one of our Top 10 specialists, or a native speaker, but we are unable to find someone in one of the aforementioned categories to work on your order, we assign the best available expert instead. In this case, the extra fee you’ve paid is refunded.
Copies of sources used
The additional fee you pay for this service becomes non-refundable once the copies of the sources are delivered with your paper. If for some reason they are not provided upon delivery, this payment will be refunded.
Smart paper
The Smart paper fee will be refunded in full if the service is not provided, or partially refunded in the case of quality-based issues.
When will I receive my refund?
All refund requests connected with payment issues or order cancellations are processed within 4 to 6 business days.
Quality-based refund requests are processed within 2 weeks as there are a lot of verifications needed.
Note: Banks may require more time to process reimbursements which might affect the time your order is delivered.
How do I avoid situations in which a refund might be required?

No writer was found to work on my order
If we are unable to get an appropriate writer to work on your paper, we will ask you whether you have enough time for us to keep searching. If there is no time left, we will issue a full refund for your order.
If you want another writer to revise your finished paper, and we can’t find you a suitable expert, our dispute resolution specialist will review your claim.
I received my completed paper but forgot to approve it
You have 14 days to approve your order after it has been delivered. The time for approval is calculated automatically from the moment the final version of your paper is uploaded to your order page. If you have not requested a free revision within 14 days, the paper is automatically approved by the system. Once the paper has been approved, you have 14 days to apply for a partial refund after which no refund request is possible.
